Michelle (also lovingly known as “4 Star”) has been a part of our No Limits Fitness family for almost a year and has had many wins in the gym and with her mindset. She almost let what she felt was her lack of coordination keep her away. Michelle took the next step and is now improving her fitness, coordination, mindset and so much more!
Q: What is your favorite inspirational quote?
A: Even if you are right on track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there. ~Will Rogers
Q: What are your personal health and fitness goals?
A: To be fit and healthy.
Q: What ONE thing keeps you most focused and motivated to continue to work hard to reach your goals?
A: Accountability. NLF has showed me a new meaning of accountability. Only you can achieve the goals you wish to by holding yourself accountable. The trainers will help guide you and give the best advice to be accountable. From the first step it become second nature.
Q: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started with us?
A: I’m an executive administrative assistant, a wife and mom of a 16-year-old son. I spend my days doing jig saw puzzles with calendars and telling people what they can and can’t do and where they need to be. My neighbor, whom I am good friends with, is a member. She (Chrissy Barrera) is the one who got me started on the No Limits Fitness train. For a while I put it off and just thought that it wasn’t for me, and that I didn’t have time. Traveling out of town constantly left me scrambling. Workdays were long. I realized that I had no focus on self-care for
myself. Everything has always been for everyone around
me. The more I saw her success, the more inspired I got.
I
thought that if I could achieve half of what she
already did,
I’d
be happy. So, I put all fears aside and took the plunge. The best decision I have made.
Q: How has No Limits Fitness made a difference in your life?
A:
NLF has given me more focus and
self-esteem. I find as we get older
sometimes
we
lose sight of these things. We get trapped in caring for family and others and tend to push ourselves aside. With focus and self-esteem comes accountability. All these factors make one big piece
for
success.
Q: What kinds of milestones have you accomplished and what specific results have you achieved so far?
A: Anyone who knows me, knows I am absolutely challenged for balance and coordination. Between bootcamps and strength training it has allowed me to focus on some of these areas. I am learning that you can be in shape and still have coordination challenges. It just takes more concentration and determination.
Q. What made you decide to join No Limits Fitness?
A: Losing my mom was a life changing experience. She is the drive behind my health and fitness goals. If you can’t take care of yourself, you can’t care for anyone else. Being fit and healthy is key for everything you do. Your brain power, self-esteem, strength, mind, body and wellbeing are 100% part of the equation. Decisions can’t be made soundly without good health. NLF is the best place to make the change for a strong and healthy start. Their personal trainers are constantly supporting and helping you achieve every goal you may have big or small. I couldn’t ask for better!
Q. What was the obstacle that almost prevented you from joining?
A: In the past, I equated this kind of fitness with body building, power lifting and crazy diets. This made me shy away and initially think that this was not for me. My goals are focused on toning and eating sensibly. I didn’t want to have massive muscles. Once I did a trial, I was hooked. Every No Limits work out engages every piece of your body. Absolutely satisfying to feel those muscles working.
Q. What has exceeded your expectations since joining?
A: Results. Every part of this NLF family has way exceeded my expectations. I walked in the door with a mind set of “it’s not for me”. Walked out the door asking why I didn’t do this sooner. Yes, I was sore for the first few weeks. Just shows how out of shape I was. Even trying a little, I could feel a difference in my joints, muscles and even mind set. Push even harder and the results are amazing!
Q. What would you say to someone on the fence about making a change & committing to their goals?
A: Do it! Your body will thank you later. You’re in good hands with NLF’s personal trainers. They will never fail you. You will succeed!
Q. What is your “word” for this year?
A: YES! Never say NO until you haven’t tried something once.
