We are thrilled to present our April 2019 Client Spotlight, Jill Grezaffi. She has been a part of our fitness family for several years and is an inspiration to everyone around her.
Jill’s story is a little different in that she has been committed to health and fitness her entire life…a genuine model of consistency. Read on to learn what drives her and to gain some insight from one of the most consistent people you will ever know.
Q: What is your favorite inspirational quote?
A: “Everyday is another chance to get strong, to eat better, to live healthier and to be the best version of yourself”
Q: What are your personal health and fitness goals?
A: I have been extremely fortunate all of my life to be blessed with good health. However, I realize I am not getting any younger, therefore, my long term health and fitness goals are to continue to maintain good health and a strong fit body for as long as humanly possible! Eating healthy (most of the time) and keeping active daily – pushing myself to try new things and improve on my existing strengths.
Q: What ONE thing keeps you most focused and motivated to continue to work hard to reach your goals?
A: Physically and mentally feeling good and knowing I am doing something positive for myself every day. When I eat clean and exercise regularly – I feel great. I can absolutely tell the difference when I have a couple days in a row of not great food choices. After a long run on a Saturday morning and then boot camp is when I feel my best all week. Feeling good is my motivator! Wanting to look good in a bathing suit is also a huge incentive!
Q: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started with us?
A: I have always been involved in fitness classes of some sort since I was 14 or 15. However, It was all cardio based – aerobics, step class, etc.. I did not enjoy working out on machines by myself at all. So boring!
Once I entered the realm of group fitness, boot camps, obstacle course events, etc. I was hooked. I love working hard, sweating and building muscle and burning fat, and most of all as a group of like minded people.
I was “in between gyms” when I saw No Limits recently opened, so I thought I would check out a free week trial. Side note – I am kind of a “gym snob” – meaning I have been to many gyms over the last 30 years and know a good one when I see it. Immediately I was impressed with the number of classes and times of the day they were offered (I like early), I was also excited with the format of the class – different each day, target all body parts (body weight exercises, resistance training, kettle bells – intervals keeping your heart rate up, etc.)
However, one of the most important factors of a gym for me are the members and trainers. It makes SUCH a difference to have interested, involved trainers – constantly and consistently encouraging and assisting you to be the best you can be, including various challenges that are offered and nutritional support. Not to mention all the wonderful members that have become life long friends. Over the years of course there have been members come and go – but as a whole I have seen more members stay at No Limits – which is a huge testament to Mike and all the trainers. No Limits definitely has it all covered. You are not just a number – you are family!
Q: How has No Limits Fitness made a difference in your life?
A: Basically – see above answer – My gym is very important to me. When I am not enjoying my gym, or not looking forward to going to the gym – I am not happy! Additionally, No Limits keeps up with technology and provides access for members – to see the next day’s workout, log their results of certain challenges, etc. Therefore for all the above reasons – No Limits makes me happy.
Q: What kinds of milestones have you accomplished and what specific results have you achieved so far?
A: No specific milestones – as I have been pretty consistent for many years. I have reached FitRanX Level 6, which was very challenging. I continue to work and practice for Level 7. May be a while though – darn pull-ups!!
Q. What made you decide to want to join No Limits Fitness?
A: Shortly after my first couple weeks I knew this was the gym for me. I love all the trainers and the members are all amazing – and have become my great friends. I knew the format of the class would suit me – and to have a group that enjoys running to add to it made it a perfect home for me. I am such a “regular” it is a challenge to not get bored and disinterested after a few years – and I can say I have not been bored at all! I may not like enjoy doing 180+ burpees one day – but at least I know they will not be in the next day’s workout.
Q. What kinds of results have you achieved so far?
A: I have increased my muscle mass for sure. According the I always ate pretty good – but since doing a couple of the challenges I have a much better understanding about the quantity I should eat and how nutrition really is more important than exercise.
Q. What would you say to someone on the fence about making a change & committing to their goals?
A: It is never too late to start! Just start. Each day that goes by that you don’t make that change or do something you have been wanting to do is a missed opportunity. “If not now – when?”, another one of my favorite quotes. You will thank yourself for starting a new routine, setting new goals, saying goodbye to old bad habits!
Q: What is your “word” of the year?!
A: Happy!
