Happy 2020! This month’s client spotlight has been a part of the No Limits Family for over 2 years! Carolyn works full time and is raising two young boys, and still makes her health a priority. She pushes herself and works exceptionally hard at our boot camp sessions!
You’ll even find her start the exercise before the timer starts and still going after the timer has gone off. Much to Davina’s delight, she’ll sub in burpees for other exercises.
Carolyn is an amazing example of dedication and inner drive. Way to go, Carolyn!
Q: What is your favorite inspirational quote?
A: “One day at a time, one meal at a time, one choice at a time.”- Unknown
Q: What are your personal health and fitness goals?
A: Being consistent with my workouts (4-5x a week). To continue eating healthy to maintain my weight (or lose – bonus!). It’s important to me to keep positive mental health, and just be healthy overall.
I would also love to get my mid-section toned up. And for performance goals, I want to be able to do pull ups so that I can pass FitRanX Level 5.
Q: What ONE thing keeps you most focused and motivated to continue to work hard to reach your goals?
A: Vanity lol. I work out to at least maintain a healthy weight and body.
Q: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started with us?
A: I use to be a big runner and have run a few marathons. I was a member of a big box gym where I mostly did Spinning 1-2 times a week. After having kids, it got harder to fit in workouts. Typical gym class schedules were not convenient for me. I also got a little bored of running. I came to No Limits over 2 years ago hoping for a change.
Q: How has No Limits Fitness made a difference in your life?
A: I feel healthier and stronger. Fitness is important to me so I appreciate a place where I can consistently get a great workout that fits my schedule and doesn’t take forever.
Q: What kinds of milestones have you accomplished and what specific results have you achieved so far?
A: I never was able to do a normal push-up before starting at No Limits.
I’ve completed Level 1-4 of FitRanX.
I’ve been consistently working out 4-5x a week for over 2 years (most of them very early in the morning – if I was trying to keep up running alone, I’d opt for sleeping in instead).
I’ve seen my body tone up, especially in my arms and butt.
Q. What made you decide to join No Limits Fitness?
A: I loved having so many class sessions available and knowing I’d get a quality workout every time.
The focus on HIIT and strength training in addition to the conditioning made me hopeful to tone up in places where I never made any progress doing cardio alone (like arms).
Q. What was the obstacle that almost prevented you from joining?
A: I wish it was a little closer to my house but it’s worth the drive. And it does cost more than a big box gym but you get so much in return.
Q. What has exceeded your expectations since joining?
A: The workouts can be addicting – wanting to try each new challenge – keeps it fun and motivating to show up each time.
Q. What would you say to someone on the fence about making a change & committing to their goals?
A: Just take it one day and one workout at a time. Commit to coming a specific day and show up. I always tell people No Limits is worth it because you get fresh, effective, challenging workouts – similar to what you’d get with a personal trainer. Plus I love that the trainers do the same workout so you know they believe in it.
Q. What is your “word” for this year?
Consistency!
We are incredibly proud of you, Carolyn! Keep up the amazing work. If you know Carolyn, or her journey has made an impact on you, then leave her a comment!
