We’re delighted to introduce our July Client Spotlight, Kara Danforth. Kara joined our No Limits Fitness clan this past January for our New Year’s 6 Week Challenge and has had incredible results. All of the coaches, along with Kara’s workout buddies can attest to her wonderful sunny disposition. She *actually* smiles while performing burpees and encourages those around her to get in just a couple more reps. Her positive spirit, and dedication to bettering herself is not only contagious, it’s inspiring!

Q: What is your favorite inspirational quote?
A: I don’t really live by any quotes, but a couple sayings I have an appreciation for are; “It doesn’t get easier, you get stronger” and “Consistency is key”. The latter applies to my personal life as well as my gym life and the first one is one I have come to believe and realize in the short time I’ve been at NLF.
Q: What are your personal health and fitness goals?
A: At the beginning of this year, I told myself that I wanted to be consistent with the gym and my eating habits for the entire year. Over the past 3-5 years, my commitment to a healthy lifestyle has been one extreme or the other, I was either really healthy for a couple months, going to the gym and eating well OR I was eating any and all carbs and living a toxic lifestyle. NLF has helped me keep my goals in mind and not give up J
Q: What ONE thing keeps you most focused and motivated to continue to work hard to reach your goals?
A: RESULTS RESULTS RESULTS!!!!
Q: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started with us?
A: My name is Kara, I am 25 years old, I’ve been working out on and off for as long as I can remember, mainly at chain facilities like LA Fitness or Planet Fitness. I came to NLF for the first time last year for the free Thanksgiving Day workout. I had never been to a boot camp style workout and felt kind of nervous at first but by the time the workout was over I was pumped and wanted to do it again! After the New Year, I got a text following up and telling me about a 6 week challenge they were going to be doing. I thought that would be the perfect time to start so I signed up, committed myself and ended up with AMAZING results. I signed up for good once the challenge was over and have continued to reach goals and see even more improvements since.
Q: How has No Limits Fitness made a difference in your life?
A: NLF has helped me in so many ways, physically and mentally. One major thing it has done is keep me accountable and consistent with my workouts and lifestyle. I tend to stay home and do something productive or read a book on Friday nights now instead of going out and partying with my friends because I know I have to be up and at the gym Saturday morning. With consistent class times every week, it is easy to get into a routine.
Q: What kinds of milestones have you accomplished and what specific results have you achieved so far?
A: Since signing up in January of this year, I have gained about 5 pounds of muscle mass, lost 10% body fat and watched the scale go down about 12 pounds total. I don’t tend to weigh myself often because I am more focused on how I feel and how my clothes fit. I have dropped 2 pant sizes and I am way more comfortable in my skin than I was when I started. I had to modify a lot of the exercises in the beginning and it’s such a great feeling to see how far I have come and how much progress I have made in such a short period of time.
Q: What made you decide to want to join No Limits Fitness?
A: So many reasons!!! The atmosphere, the people (coaches and members), the workouts, as well as the results I was / am seeing & the feeling that each and every workout is a challenge.
Q: What would you say to someone on the fence about making a change & committing to their goals?
A: You have to start somewhere. You never know what you are capable of unless you take a leap of faith and just do it!
Q: What is your “word” of the year?!
A: Consistency!
